Watcheye is always developing. We’re always looking for new applications, adjustments, extensions and add-ons. Lately we’ve put all our efforts in developing our newest product. As a State of the Art product we present you the Watcheye B Pro.
The Watcheye B Pro is the excellent version of the standard class B AIS transponder. This AIS is designed for the true sailor. For adventure, long distances and better visibility. The B Pro is the extra mile, the step ahead.
Instead of the standard 2 Watt, the B Pro has a transmission power of 5 Watt, which increases range and visibility. With the 5 watt you’ll be visible wherever you are, even in the middle of the ocean. This is made possible using satellites, we will fill you in on the details later. Please note that range depends on numerous things, besides transmission power there are for instance the antenna, its position and cables.
Besides the increased transmission power, the Watcheye B Pro uses the same timeslots as class A AIS (for commercial vessels), which is called SOTDMA. This means a higher frequency and prior to other class B AIS transponders. This feature makes Watcheye leading in AIS once more.
AIS uses timelsots, these are TDMA’s (Time Division Multiple Access). There’s a classification for timeslots for commercial vessels (class A AIS) and leisure vessels (class B AIS):
Note that transmit ranges may vary due to the ships’ status (moored, anchored) or it’s speed.
Naturally the Watcheye B Pro is also equipped with all core qualities of our other devices, such as WIFI, internal GPS, NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 and waterproof.
