Watcheye B Class AIS Transponder

The Watcheye B AIS transponder is a valuable piece of on board equipment, especially vital in open waters and during regattas. There is a clear view of what is happening which in turn leads to more safety. AIS offers information about other vessels within a certain range and transmits your information as well. So AIS is basically all you need.

The Watcheye B AIS transponder has to be connected to a VHF antenna. It is also possible to connect it to the Watcheye S AIS splitter, which divides the VHF signal between AIS and VHF. To display the AIS data it must be connected to a chart system; such as a plotter, PC or tablet.

Mini GPS

Watcheye offers a special GPS antenna, whenever the internal antenna is insufficient. In our opinion the mini GPS is the best solution, as it is very small yet strong and it can be mounted on deck.

Watcheye B Transponder configuratie

  • NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 integrated in one system makes it compatible to almost all equipment
  • An internal GPS antenna makes the installation far more easy. If necessary it is possible to adjust an external GPS antenna, whenever the internal antenna has insufficient reception (e.g. steel ships). For this situation we recommend to use the Watcheye mini GPS.
  • External silent button: offers the option to stop transmitting whenever desirable
  • A USB connection: this is useful if the AIS is connected to an on board laptop, however it is also possible to use the USB on a PC to configure the AIS (in this case USB power is sufficient, so no 12V necessary for the installation).
  • ProAIS2 software to configure the AIS and to use as a check to see if everything is functioning as it should
  • CD-ROM with the drivers and ProAIS2 software for PC and Mac and the user manual in several languages. Whenever the PC is connected to the internet the software will automatically search for updates.
  • Waterproof (IPx7)
